The instructions were absolutely hieroglyphical, but after a few "re-do's" we managed to get it together.
We have two cats - one medium, one large. To give credit to the manufacturer, the cats LOVED the tree. They absolutely lived on it. The sisal posts are furniture savers.
The problem is anchoring the tree to the ceiling. It is a fabric-cover screwlike assembly that you twist up into the ceiling until you can twist no more. However, the stress of the cats' jumping on and off and general play was too much for the tree and it fell twice. The second time it broke in half and destroyed the window it fell into.
The unit needs one of three things: a larger base, better weight distribution of the play surfaces, or a better ceililng anchoring mechanism.
