Be ready to feel deep emotions while reading this loving book John Elliott has written about his father, Henry H. Elliott, Jr., who graduated from the US Naval Adademy in Annapolis, MD in 1939.
Hitler had begun his planned ascent to overtake the world. Henry's personal battle against Hitler, as he worked undercover, nearly cost him his life. But as his son, John, relates through many heart-warming tales about his family, his dad didn't explain the complexity of his dangerous involvement in fighting the Nazis until he was much older.
This story so clearly illustrates complexities of love within a family. And John's reflections of life with his dad will open your heart and rekindle memories of your loved ones, filled with laughter and warmth.

Never Hold Discussions With The Monkey_ Life According to Dadis dedicated to my father. Dad was always something of a quiet presence. Without being loud or brash like so many lesser people, Dad was always recognized as the brains of the outfit. Quiet and unassuming, Dad was the chief architect in the formation of his children s characters and personalities. Dad showed his love in many ways over the years and, even though he died in 2003, still does today. If you view the family unit as something of a business enterprise, Dad would be its Chief Executive Officer. Even today, after his passing, he continues to influence the family in many wonderful ways.

Mauch's Sailboat Guide, Vol. III Review

Mauch's Sailboat Guide, Vol. III

Vol 3 of the 3 volume series. (Vol #1 is ISBN# 0-9642621-0-X,Vol #2 is ISBN# 0-9642621-1-8) To get complete information on anysingle manufacturer you need all 3 volumes. There is alot ofinformation missing (which could probably be gleaned from other brokers files in cooperative effort) but that said there is a lot here. Hopefully for ease of use these will be combined into one volume on any future reprints. Also I hope Ms. Mauch continues work on and expand these volumes to add additional manufacturers, models, and specific interior, exterior, sail plan, number of hulls built, and general quality of construction information for any future reprints (and I promise I'll buy and new edition). The other thing I think would fill a serious void is information on company history, specifically, who has gone out of business, been boughtout or merged. These are great books for recreational sailboat lovers and students of the genre, worth the price. END

Excellent book. Every Southerner--no, every American--should read this book. Smith has done us a great favor. Southern baby boomers will especially appreciate the best explanation I've read of why things are the way they are in the South today. Smith makes history an enjoyable read.

Completely ORIGINAL! Beautifully written - a wonderful, wonderful love story - thrilling. If you like Emily Bronte and Wuthering Heights, you will LOVE this book because it is written with as much passion and intensity and intelligent perceptiveness. I love the characters, the kites, the curse, the uniqueness of the story, the uniqueness of Ginie Sayles and her writing style - and I love the sexy fantasy of it all. Unlike any other - As I said Bronte-esk passion

Frommer's New England's Best-Loved Driving Tours Review

Frommer's New England's Best-Loved Driving Tours
Average Reviews:

We loved this book! It has a number of driving tours that take you to highlights in each state. It has a couple of really nice features. The first, although we didn't stick to it very much, is the time suggested for the trip. They did suggest 2 days for the Southern Vermont tour. We did it in one day but only because we didn't stop in all the little towns suggested by the book. The book does not have much detail on each place so I would suggest a second "guide book" for more details and hotel/restaurant suggestions but the driving tours and directions were accurate and had good 'stop here' suggestions.

The free Maps you get from AAA will be of more use to you. There are short paragraphs of each region, but no specific information. The book is a leaflet and not very detailed at all.
